Policy Executive/Strategic Planner
Position Overview:
The Policy Executive/Strategic Planner will play a key leadership role in developing, refining, and communicating organizational policies, technical strategies, and cybersecurity operational plans. This position requires a forward-thinking professional who can bridge the gap between high-level executive vision and actionable, well-documented strategies that guide enterprise-wide technology and security initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain organizational policies, procedures, and strategic plans to align with mission goals and compliance requirements.
Conduct technical writing of documents, reports, and strategic guidance materials to support senior leadership decision-making.
Collaborate with executive leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable technical and operational initiatives.
Support cybersecurity operations and governance activities by crafting clear, enforceable policies and process documentation.
Present and explain policy, design, and strategy proposals to executive stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational priorities.
Evaluate and update existing strategies, frameworks, and governance documentation to ensure continued effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and implement new organizational initiatives or transformation efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience writing policies, technical documentation, strategic plans, designs, and cybersecurity procedures, as well as presenting and explaining complex information to executive audiences.
Proven experience supporting enterprise-level strategic planning, IT governance, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical topics into concise, executive-level materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a STEM or policy-related field.
Experience working within federal government, defense, or highly regulated environments.
Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and other cybersecurity frameworks.
Background in enterprise architecture, IT risk management, or program management.
