Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator II (IDE System Administrator) to support and maintain enterprise systems and integrated development environments (IDEs). This role is responsible for ensuring reliable system performance, supporting development teams, and maintaining secure, standardized development and operational environments.
The ideal candidate has experience in systems administration, development environment support, and troubleshooting complex technical issues in a collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security across environments
  • Perform system patching, updates, and routine maintenance
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP)
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
  • Ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies and standards
IDE / Development Environment Support
  • Administer and maintain Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and development toolchains
  • Support configuration management, version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN), and build tools
  • Maintain and optimize development, test, and staging environments
  • Assist with CI/CD pipeline setup, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure consistency and standardization across development environments
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to resolve environment and tooling issues

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or related field
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, or identity management systems
  • Experience supporting development environments, IDEs, or DevOps tools
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Linux, or cloud certifications)
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal government systems
