Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Systems Administrator I (IDE Application Administrator) to support application administration and integrated development environments (IDEs). This entry-level role focuses on maintaining application performance, assisting development teams, and supporting system operations in a collaborative IT environment.
The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of systems administration and application support, with a strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical role.
Key Responsibilities
Application Administration
  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise applications and development tools
  • Provide support for application performance, availability, and troubleshooting
  • Assist with user account setup, access control, and permissions
  • Monitor application systems and resolve basic issues or escalate as needed
  • Support software updates, patching, and configuration changes
  • Maintain documentation for applications, configurations, and procedures
IDE / Development Environment Support
  • Support Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and development tools
  • Assist with configuration of development environments and toolchains
  • Support version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and basic workflows
  • Help maintain development, test, and staging environments
  • Troubleshoot basic environment and application issues for developers
  • Ensure adherence to development standards and environment consistency

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0–2 years of experience in systems administration, application support, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with application support and troubleshooting concepts
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to development tools or IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
  • Internship or academic project experience in IT or software environments
