JOB SUMMARY:
Genesis Consulting is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Senior Quality Assurance and Testing Lead with a passion for growth and business transformation. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong Federal application implementation experience to join our team and work closely with a Federal Government Client.
As the Senior Quality Assurance and Testing Lead, you will oversee quality assurance and control processes while leading testing efforts for COTS software implementations within the federal government sector. This critical role requires deep testing methodology knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with federal regulations and quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and implement quality assurance and control strategies, policies, and processes to ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with federal requirements and industry best practices.
· Plan for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT), create test data, and perform test executions.
· Use Jira to manage, track, and maintain test cases, test execution results, and defect logs.
· Demonstrate strong understanding of federal regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements related to COTS solution implementations, ensuring all processes and deliverables adhere to these requirements.
· Create and/or review comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases for system implementations, including functional, integration, system, and performance testing.
· Support System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing activities, ensuring structured, consistent, and compliant execution.
· Lead testers and QA professionals by providing guidance, training, and mentorship; assign responsibilities and ensure timely, accurate test execution.
· Oversee the testing results of the System Integrator, ensuring completeness, accuracy, defect resolution, and alignment with project requirements.
· Oversee execution of test cases, monitor progress, and manage defects. Collaborate with developers and integrators to ensure delivery of defect-free ERP solutions.
· Identify opportunities for test automation and implement tools to increase efficiency and enhance test coverage.
· Coordinate setup and maintenance of test environments to ensure accurate production mirroring.
· Provide high-quality analysis of work items, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables and contributing to a positive team environment.
· Ensure testing processes comply with federal standards (e.g., FISMA, SDLC). Prepare and present testing reports and metrics to stakeholders.
· Collaborate closely with federal business users, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate testing progress, and resolve issues.
· Stay current on COTS solution technologies, testing methodologies, and QA practices; recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.
· Leverage knowledge of federal travel processes—experience with federal travel systems is a plus.
· Concur experience is a plus, especially in contexts involving federal travel and expense management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· 8+ years as a QA Testing Lead supporting COTS implementations in the Federal Government sector (Federal civilian, DoD, or DHS experience preferred).
· Experience supporting at least 3 full lifecycle major implementations and/or major releases (e.g., at least 10,000 users, 50 releases, etc.), including automation tool implementation and ongoing execution.
· Deep knowledge of COTS solution technologies, including travel and expense solutions; knowledgeable in federal travel a plus.
· SAP Concur experience is a plus.
· Strong understanding of federal regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements (FISMA, SDLC, NIST SP 800-53, etc.).
· Proven experience leading test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and automation efforts.
· Experience using Jira for test management, test case tracking, and defect lifecycle management.
· Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide QA teams.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with high attention to detail.
· Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills across diverse federal and contractor audiences.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
· SAFe, Agile, or Concur certifications preferred.
OTHER:
· U.S. Citizenship Required with ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
· Willingness to work onsite in Washington, DC as needed.
